A Classroom Series of Experiences

Program Purpose

Influence a change in behavior for your organization with Adventures in Attitudes®. This is an empowering program designed to help people understand that how they perceive and respond to events around them is their choice.  This awareness is the first step in changing negative attitudes to positive ones.  It's key to establishing personal responsibility and accountability in the midst of change. And it helps turn passive resistance into high-energy performance.

In a national training survey, companies chose what ranked higher: employee aptitude, including hard skills and technical competencies, or employee attitude, including motivation, commitment, and communication. Nearly 60 percent of respondents ranked attitude as the number one priority. Coping with the continuous changes of today’s downsized; team-oriented workplace has left many people confused and fearful. As attitudes deteriorate, so do levels of commitment and performance.
 
 
Adventures in Attitudes® helps people understand that they can choose how to perceive and respond to events around them, and that it's in their control to change a negative outlook to one that’s positive. By establishing personal responsibility and accountability in the midst of change, individuals learn that passive resistance can be transformed into high-energy performance.
 
Using small-group interaction, shared personal experiences, individual and group exercises, and facilitator-led discussion, Adventures in Attitudes® provides a remarkable process for self-discovery. This workshop is highly facilitator dependent in the sense that the facilitator enables the “adventures” (nothing physical – small table interactions). The learning, the self-discovery goes on in the small groups.
 
 
Adventures in Attitudes® provides organizations with a time-tested, life-changing human relations program offering long-term performance improvement. Organizations will:

Participants in Adventures in Attitudes® gain the knowledge and skills to develop and maintain positive attitudes. Through a series of small group “adventures” individuals will:
  • Increase self-awareness, affirm strengths, talents and abilities
  • Learn to transform negative attitudes into positive ones
  • Overcome self-imposed limitations, fears and doubts
  • Develop effective listening, and communication skills
    improve relationships, increase empathy and respect for others
 
Adventures in Attitudes® is an intensive but flexible program.  It can be offered over several days (3-4 days) or, in a modular format, over several weeks.  This program is a remarkable process of self-discovery using small group interaction, individual and group exercises, and facilitator-led discussion.  Participants recognize early on that this is not a “training as usual”; they quickly become active and personally involved.
Learners move through ten high-involvement areas critical to increasing self-awareness, changing attitudes and improving relationships for greater professional and personal success; they experience a set of “adventures” in small groups that deal with:

  • Attitudes of Personal Empowerment

Participants find that:
1. Empowerment begins with seeing the possibilities, not just the problems.

2. It means changing perspective—on themselves and others.

3. Changing attitudes is risky—it means leaving where one is and not coming back: stepping out of the comfort zone.
